A message from your President David Dean:
I would again, like to thank all members that have shown their confidence in me, to elect me fro a second term as President of the Wheels of Thunder Classic Car Club. I am honored to serve you and I give you my word that I will do my best to lead our club in achieving the goals that we set out to do.
Moving forward, 2008 is another new year. I have been a member of the Wheels of Thunder since a month after the club formed in 1997. The growth of any organization, creates many changes. I have witnessed all of our club’s growing pains and am proud to say that we continue to have a membership of some great people with some really great classic vehicles.
We have goals that we hope to completed many goals this past year. The Wheels of Thunder Ladies Auxiliary was officially formed. The Wheels of Thunder would not be the club it is, without the support we have received from our ladies.
This year will mark our 11th Anniversary of being a club. Our October show with be the Wheels of Thunder 11th Annual Show. This is a milestone achieved only by you, the members. We put on a great 10th Anniversary show, and plan on continuing a great show for our 11th. We have had some really great new members join us that past few months, adding strength to our club. We purchased a club trailer, DJ equipment, tables and many other items this past year that will assist us in doing the job that we do, much better.
Our club has many other things to be proud of too. We are a very recognized and respected local car club, both with other clubs and within the community. I would especially like to thank my wife Mary for the best Classic Car Club web-site of any other club I have seen . We continue to have a very informative Newsletter that we receive every month. The member of the month continues to be an enjoyable article.
You have elected a great group of officers. Our Vice President Phil Hitchner continues to offer himself to serve our club in any capacity he can. Secretary Ed Kligmann has been an great Secretary and member in the many years that he has served our club. Treasurer Randy Waller has accepted this position to show his dedication to making our club work. Sgt. at Arms Henry Ridgeway continues his efforts to offer his time to make our club a better organization. I want to thank each of our Officers for accepting to serve our club for 2008. I offer my full support to each of you.
Our club cannot survive with the Officers support alone. I am asking for the full support of each and every one of you members, to assist me and your other Officers in getting things done in 2008. We encourage your ideas and participation.
We have the best club there is. Both my wife and I feel very passionate about this club, it’s member’s and our purpose. This is why we do all that we can do to support our group. Classic cars have brought us together, but the strong friendships that we have gained along the way keeps us close.
Both our members and spouses have worked very hard to make our club what it is today. We have done some great things and have gained a positive name for the Wheels of Thunder organization. Our plan is to continue our efforts in this same direction.
These goals can only be achieved with your support. I hope that our club can count on each of you to do your part.
